Massage & Bodywork
The pressures of modern life make massage a necessity, not a luxury. Swedish massage is a wonderful way to escape the tensions of our work and domestic lives and recharge our bodies and minds. This technique involves the gentle application of pressure using oil to sooth away sore and aching muscles. In addition to relaxation, the massage also enhances your immune system, lowers blood pressure and makes your body less susceptible to the ravages of stress.
Deep tissue massage focuses on specific problems of muscle soreness, restrictions or pain. By applying direct pressure to an area, metabolic waste is pushed out and fresh, nurturing, oxygen-rich blood is given room to enter the area. Connective tissue is also warmed and stretched back to its optimal shape. Deep tissue is usually given in conjunction with Swedish massage.
The laying on of hands is an ancient form of healing. Reiki, which means “universal life energy” is a gentle but powerful form of healing where the client receives this universal life energy to promote regeneration at all levels. This type of treatment may be given along with conventional massage or can be used when other forms of bodywork are contraindicated.
Rest, Relax, Repeat
Massage is a powerful, non-invasive therapy which can reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance emotional well-being. I offer a combination of Swedish massage, deep tissue and energy work, including Reiki, tailored to the needs of each client.
A full session can be either soothing and relaxing – focusing on the emotional state or invigorating and therapeutic – focusing on specific physical concerns.
Regular massage reduces the effects of stress and muscular tension, promoting greater ease of movement and improving the way your body functions.
